Anxiety stress and worry - the biggest hidden killers can be helped with Hypnotherapy

We live in very anxious times. At time of writing we still didn't know who was going to be running the country and whether we would get through the recession.

Anxiety stress and worry are together one of the biggest hidden killers. Cancer, smoking, obesity and the following strokes and heart attacks are the biggest killers and are the most obvious. The hidden reason for much of these problems, however, is often stress worry and anxiety. People smoke or overeat because of stress anxiety or worry.

Businesses are piling more and more work on fewer and fewer people in the work place and this is quite honestly very dangerous. I know too many people who have had new companies take over the business and then fire some people and split their old jobs between people already overstretched. I try to advise companies that this is a false economy because too many of their staff will end up on tranquillizers and may get very ill. In many cases they won't address the underlying issues so may find that they are on medication most of the time. In a worst case scenario many will self medicate with illegal drugs or too much alcohol - none of this is ideal for the business or the individual. Short of quitting the job it is best to consider getting help with a Hypnotherapist.

You can learn how to handle stress anxiety and worry with Hypnotherapy - instantly floating stress away and teaching the subconscious mind how to be calm instead of like a headless chicken. I make CDs to help them find calm but it is also important to deal with the why of stress in their individual case as well as giving them the tactics to avoid these problems and teaching the subconscious mind to let you be calmer and more effective.

Try this exercise: Find a quiet place and switch off the telephone. Put on some soothing music. Close your eyes. Start to breathe deeply all the way down to your belly. Visualise the colour of calm (whatever that is to you - I suggest the colour of sunny white gold) and then imagine breathing that down to your belly and letting it radiate the colour of calm throughout you body - wherever healing or relief is required. Continue to do this until you feel calm and relaxed.

Then imagine on the out breath sending all the stress anxiety and worry away and letting it form into a red ball of stress. Imagine a lever marked 10 - 1. Turn it to nine and see the ball lose colour and shrink then down to eight etc until the ball is colourless and disappears.

I also teach people how to be 100% more effective at work by prioritising their day - you would be surprised how many business people are rubbish at this - they try to do too many things and end up doing lots badly whereras I teach them to be calm and work through the tasks in order of importance and become much more efficient - they also learn how to say that a thing will be done but not necessarily NOW because they have a load of other stuff which also needs to be done.

There is more to help you avoid the illness that follows from stress anxiety and worry on my website:

Weight loss without dieting Hypnotherapy Gastric Band Hypnosis

You really can lose weight without endless yo yo diets and if you are clinically obese - BMI over 30 - there is hope with a virtual gastric band, fitted under hypnosis - yes Hypnotherapy may be the best all round option for losing weight.

Here at Edge of the World Hypnotherapy (see http://www.edgehypno.com) and NLP I have been running two successful weight loss programs in tandem - but both have at their core the same philosophies. Most people on a diet crave the things they should not be eating or after dieting and losing weight they go back to their old habits. Some of their direts may use exclusion that puts strain on their liver and kidneys - potentially quite dangerous.

What I, Graham Howes, do is get people in touch with the pleasure of eating great food and persuade them of the cost effectiveness of eating less great quality food - better bang for buck in value terms and after all you would not put paraffin in your petrol tank would you? To take that mataphor further for comfort eaters you wouldn't put fuel in the car if the oil light comes on would you? Yet the oil light is a warning something is amiss and to put chocolate in your mouth does not resolve the problems.

Many of these problems are associated with anxiety stress or lack of self confidence or past habits embedded by poor practices when they were growing up: "you must clear your plate" - for instance. I say better pounds in the waste bin than pounds on the waist!

These problems can be addressed with Hypnotherapy - giving strategies for dealing with anxiety and stress and lack of confidence and using such techniques as regression to deal with psychological issues that may have lead to an abusive relationship with food. One lady of 21 stones came to me and once we had dealt with her bullying issues and given her nutritional advcie she began to lose weight rapidly - something she had never been able to do!

In addition the American Health Authority now blames much of obesity on junk food - which you may as well call "junkie" food - the food has added fat sugar and salt and the taste buds become literally addicted to this stuff - if you have ever seen "Supersize me" you know how dangerous it can be espcially if the balance of eating is skewed towards junk food.

Another important weapon is the food diary - noting all that you eat but also when and why you eat certain foods?

If obesity gets to the level of a BMI of over 30 then for some the choice is stark - they will have terrible health problems if they don't lose weight they will have tried all the diets and pills and found them to fail because they haven't addressed all the underlying issues for overeating. They are sometimes left with the only choice of a Gastric Band - the operation can cost between £3,000 - £7,000 - in some cases the operation can be dangerous - I recently had a client who had had multiple strokes and two of them serious - for her the risks are high.

Combining good nutritional advice with learning to enjoy food properly and dealing with underlying psychological issues can lead to permanent weight loss. In addition fitting the Virtual Gastric band under hypnosis, using something like the HypnoGastricBand system, makes wieght loss much more likely. The system works for most people and clients have reported that they can not only see and experience the operation without pain but that they can feel it. The discomfort passes rapidly and people find that they do start to eat smaller protions and like my other weight loss clients they eat leass and exercise more and enjoy food again.

The operation is talked through and is keyhole surgery and is relatively simple - tying a band around the higher part of the stomach - the band can be made tighter or loosened and the golf ball sized part of the stomach made by the band means that the hypnothalmus the governer pf appetite tells you you are full - the food then passes through normally. The hypnotic gastric band fitted under hypnosis acts the same way.

So consider hypnotherapy if you have tried the rest and it has failed. See my website for more: http://www.edgehypno.com
